PTA Mission
- To create a supportive and enriched educational environment for all students
- To promote parent participation at the school
- To provide resources to benefit the school and students
PTA Membership
All parents, caregivers, teachers and staff of PS11 students are automatically members of the PTA.
NYC Department of Education mandates that each school have a PTA. All parents, step-parents, legally appointed guardians, foster parents and persons in parental relation are automatically members of their school’s PTA.
Parents elect Officers of a PTA. Elected officers are responsible for the PTA budget, events and activities. PTAs can support schools by raising funds, hosting parent workshops or meetings, organizing festivals, dances or social events for families, and can help schools connect with parents through updates and volunteer opportunities.
PTA Meetings
PTA general meetings, usually held on the third Wednesday of every month, are a great way to keep on top of important PS11 news including PTA events, DOE initiatives and school-wide programs. Regular speakers include Principal Hope, PTA executive board members and committee chairs. Parents are encouraged to get involved, ask questions, voice their opinions and volunteer new ideas for fundraising and community building. Check the website homepage calendar for up to date meeting schedules.
